Freiburg im Breisgau has approximately 220.000 inhabitants and after Stuttgart, Mannheim and Karlsruhe, it is the 4th biggest city in Baden-Württemberg. Of these 4 cities it is the most southern in Germany. Freiburg is known for its historic city center, the Cathedral, and the famous water canals bring yearly over three million visitors. The city is known as the gateway to the black forest and its warm sunny climate.

The Europapark theme park has a total area of 850,000 m² which makes it the largest amusement park in Germany. The entire Euro-Park Resort covers approximately 970.000 m² and is located in the badische city of Rust. It is near the A5 between Freiburg and Offenburg, near the border with France. In the 15 themed areas, 13 of which are country related, one can find over 120 attractions and shows. The park also includes four themed hotels and a cinema.

The DIA is one of the biggest nation-wide advanced training institutes for real estate and cooperate financing. They are also noted for increasing successes in vocational training programs. More than 1500 participants graduate the program every year in different degree programs. Since 1997 they have a cooperation arrangement with the Universität Freiburg. The DIA are supporters of non profit organizations such as Verwaltungs- und Wirtschafts-Akademie (VWA) for the district of Freiburg and the Immobilienverband Deutschland (IVD).
